Heart Charm Chain Bracelet: How to Cut, Fit and Finish It

Step-by-step instructions

  1. Wrap a flexible tape around the wrist and decide the preferred ease. Add space for the clasp and connecting rings.
  2. Lay the heart chain flat. Mark the cut point between links; keep the decorative hearts facing the intended direction.
  3. Use a cutter suitable for the chain's actual metal and link thickness. Wear eye protection; do not cut a link if the tool is not rated for it.
  4. Open a jump ring sideways with two suitable pliers, not by pulling the ring apart into a wider circle.
  5. Attach one chain end to a jewellery-grade clasp and the other to a matching ring or extender. A suitable bracelet clasp is required separately; do not substitute a large bag hook.
  6. Close rings flush, gently test each connection and check the finished bracelet for rough edges or snagging.

Before selling your finished piece

Check the finish, clasp quality, sharp edges and colour consistency. If you sell sets, photograph the exact heart-chain style you actually used.

Quick questions

Can I use the pearl-heart chain instead? Yes, as a design alternative, but check the actual link construction and compatible tools before cutting.
